ANIMAL: 1. any living organism, excluding plants and bacteria typically able to move about 2. any such organism other than human being; esp., any four-footed creature 3. a brutish or inhuman person
PET: 1. an animal that is domesticated and kept as a companion 2. a person treated with particular indulgence
God created all animals. In Genesis 1:20-25 says "Then God said, “Let the water swarm with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky.” So God created the large sea-creatures and every living creature that moves and swarms in the water, according to their kinds. [He also created] every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. So God blessed them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the waters of the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.” Evening came, and then morning: the fifth day. Then God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that crawl, and the wildlife of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. So God made the wildlife of the earth according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and creatures that crawl on the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good." God protected all animals from going extinct from flood. Genesis 7:1-5 says "Then the Lord said to Noah, “Enter the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you . are righteous before Me in this generation. You are to take with you seven pairs, a male and its female, of all the clean animals, and two of the animals that are not clean, a male and itsfemale, and seven pairs, male and female, of the birds of the sky—in order to keep offspring alive on the face of the whole earth. Seven days from now I will make it rain on the earth 40 days and 40 nights, and I will wipe off the face of the earth every living thing I have made.” And Noah did everything that the Lord commanded him." But to the people who have pets they are like furry and feathered angels sent by God.
God created animals for a reason. God created some animals to be wild all there lives, some to give us food and others to be our best friends and sometimes God makes them to help people (like service animals) who is in need of a furry angel. All the animals on the earth are a gift from God but pets and service animals are extra special gifts.
They are with us a very short time but it is worth it. Don't feel like when they die you will never see them again. NO WAY! They are in heaven waiting for you! Where do you think they will get the horses for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and the horse Jesus will be on when he comes back to earth? One place. Heaven.
I tell my Mom once in a while "Wouldn't it be cool that (my off white horse who died many years ago) Snowball be one of those horses!?" I can't wait to see my dog chubby that saved my life once and my two cats Baby and Blackie. Blackie was my at home PTSD service cat. With her attitude towards some I couldn't take her out.
After Baby died we got Pooky. After Blackie died I prayed for a cat to take her place. We got Odie the week after Blackie died because Pooky needed a buddy to keep him out of trouble. I thought God just gave me Pooky and Odie but out of the blue God gave me GG (which means Garfield's Girl). The second night I had her she woke me up from a nightmare. Now she is not only helping me but my Mom. She has hypoglycemia and she passed out GG was trying to wake her up. She does her job well.
Pets are a gift from God. I know of some domesticated animals hurt people. I know that feeling. I had a dog whapped me on the ground and he was on top of me. I was scared of dogs that where bigger than me for many years. Some say all pit bulls should be put down. It is not them it is how they are brought up. There is a pit bull that is so loving. Like this pit bull at my Mom's work (Petsmart). The only thing he will kill you with is licks on the face. A very sweet dog that wouldn't hurt a fly.
I have to hand it to certain organizations who turn fighting dogs into the most loving dogs. Like Michael Vick's fighting dogs. One of them is a therapy dog now. In Wisconsin they just had a dog attack from a dog that was in a kennel who hurt a child. Now they have to take the hard decision to keep the dog alive or put it down. Sad to think of another living being having to be put down. We need more places like in the Micheal Vick case where the dogs went. Even the meanest dog needs another chance. If they don't get better that is something to consider.
Pets are a gift please don't take them for granted. Love them up while they are here because they are only here for a short time on earth.
GOD BLESS YOU & YOUR PETS
